Two Nigerians Arrested In India For Allegedly Duping Women On Social Media


 The police in India have arrested  Nigerians in Delhi, India for allegedly duping girls after befriending them on social media.


The accused, diagnosed as Raphael,19, and Evans Chukwudi, 20, stay in west Delhi's Tilak Nagar, police stated on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.


The police stated they acquired a grievance from a female from Tri Nagar alleging that she became duped of Rs 149,one hundred with the aid of using one Deepak Kumar, who she became pals with on social media.


The female alleged that some days after she have become pals with the accused, he pretended to ship her high-priced presents.


The following day, she acquired a name from a person claiming to be a customs respectable from the airport.


The 'customs respectable' informed her to switch cash for "clearance" of a gift, a senior police officer stated.


The complainant transferred Rs 149,one hundred into his account as 'customs responsibility and overseas forex conversion charges', the officer stated.


The police then performed a raid in Tilak Nagar and nabbed the accused, Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest) Usha Rangnani stated.


The  Nigerian nationals arrived in India in 2022 for clinical remedy and began out scamming humans via social media, she stated.


They found out that they befriended girls on social media and triggered them to pay huge quantities at the pretext of customs responsibility and overseas forex conversion price on high-priced presents and jewellery, the police stated.


Five cellular telephones and SIM playing cards had been recovered from the suspects.
